The Botafumeiro in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela

The Botafumeiro is a famous thurible found in the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral. Incense is burned in this swinging metal container, or "incensory". The name "Botafumeiro" means "smoke expeller" in Galician. Source: Wikipedia

Italia and Galicia is worth the while

I spent a delightful week in July under the warm Tuscan sun before embarking on a journey via Roma to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. There – for yet another week – to take part in the festivities for the Apostle, and to attend a conference about diversity.

Easter break in Tuscany

Going to the Garfagnana —the mountainous region of Tuscany— was a treat during this year's Easter break.
