Hitch-hiked from Mundaka to Bermeo with none other than young Juan Dreadlocks who was full of adrenaline and on his way to a base jump from Matxitxako. I was on my way to the spectacular island sanctuary of San Juan de Gatzelugatxe (above photo).
Took the bus from Bermeo to San Juan where I climbed the 231 steps up to the church and enjoyed the view. Walked back along the beautiful coastline from San Juan to he idyllic fishing town of Bermeo where there was a delightful fiesta - an Euskadi art form - going on.
